Growing a restaurant, café, retail shop or service business often means recommending tools that already work for you. NHY’s referral program lets owners do that simply: share a unique code, give the friend a discount on their first paid plan, and receive a reward once that friend has paid.
The practical problem
Owners who like NHY sometimes want to introduce it to a neighbouring café, a supplier’s shop, or a friend starting a service business. Doing so by email or message works, but there is no automatic way to track who joined because of you or to receive a thank-you without manual follow-up. A built-in code that applies the discount and pays the reward after the first real payment removes the extra work.
Realistic example
A café owner opens Settings in the NHY app and finds the Refer a friend card. The code is already there. They tap Share and send the message to a friend who runs a small retail counter. The friend signs up, enters the code, and later chooses a paid plan. The discount of ₹500 is applied to that first payment through the configured offer. Once the payment is verified, the original owner receives ₹500 to the UPI ID they saved on the same card. Both sides see the result without extra spreadsheets.
Step-by-step workflow
- Open Settings and find Refer a friend. Only the owner sees the card. NHY creates a unique eight-character code for your store if one does not already exist.
- Share the code. Tap Share to send the ready-made message, or copy the code. The message includes the link to the NHY app. The friend can also enter the code during registration; the system checks that it is valid.
- Friend joins and pays. When the friend creates an account with your code, the referral is recorded. On their first paid plan, the configured Razorpay offer applies ₹500 off if the offer is active. After that payment is verified, the referral qualifies.
- Receive the reward. Save a valid UPI ID on the same card (masked after saving). Once the friend’s first payment is confirmed, NHY pays ₹500 to that UPI through the payout path. The card shows joined, paid (qualified) and earned amounts. Self-referrals and duplicate uses of the same code on one account are rejected.
The referral card and code are available to owners on every plan, including Free. There is no separate subscription gate beyond the owner role. The friend discount uses the configured Razorpay Offer and applies only to the first paid plan. The referrer reward of ₹500 is paid after that verified payment. A platform coupon named FREERENEW can add one free month to an active paid plan (once per account); it is entered on billing screens and pauses autopay for the extra period if applicable. No monthly campaign-style quota appears in the entitlement matrix for referrals; operational handling is idempotent.

Prerequisites and limitations
